This trailer is an 'add-on' for the Container Truck. Although it just seams to be a regular trailer, some functions are interesting to mention. The front rear-wheels can be lifted, the container can be locked with a 'spring' lever to avoid slipping of the trailer during driving, and a brake system is available to avoid the trailer rolling away from the Truck during loading.
Chains can be used to secure the container to the trailer, and when not used, they can be stowed in the storage area on the trailer.
The Container-Truck model uses a cable-system for loading and unloading containers. Figuring out how to use this cable-system to load a container on the trailer was a nice part of designing such a mechanism in a LEGO® model.

How to load a container on the trailer
Maybe you have noticed it on highways - when passing by a container truck combination - the container on the trailer is mostly facing backwards. This, because the container is pushed on the trailer from the rear-side.
The following pictures show how this is done in reality and in LEGO® scale.
The container is unloaded halfway on the truck.
If unloaded halfway, the liftplatform is lowered completely with the overhauled container.
The truck navigates precisely in-line with the trailer, but from the trailer's rear-side. Make sure the trailer has it's brakes on.
The liftplatform with the container is lifted and the container can be unwinded on the trailer by the cable-system. In the occassion the container does not slide very well on the trailer bed, the truck drives slightly away from the trailer whilst unwinding the cable-system.
When the container drops from the liftarm, the truck drives backwards to the trailer, pushing the container.
Aboce explains as well why the trailer chassis is lower compared to the truck's chassis; to be able to have clearance between the overhauled container on the truck and the trailer's chassis when the truck drive's backwards.
Quite a clever way to unload a container, and challenging to reproduce it with this model.

Step 1: Unload the container halfway
Step 2: Lower the platform
Step 3: Drive backwards against the trailer
Step 4a: Raise the platform, slide the container partly on the trailer
Step 4b: Drive forwards, unwinding the cables; until the container drops from the platform
Step 5: Drive backwards and push the container completely on the trailer
