8421 XL
Extended version of the original Mobile Crane set 8421, launched by LEGO® in 2005
Steering axles on 1st, 2nd and 3rd axel as well the last rear axle.
Double differential units on axles 4th and 5th powered by V12 engine.
Boom lift powered by a double twin pneumatic cylinder combination. Boom extension by chains instead of wires.
Extendable contra weight (= Battery Unit)
This was my first (modified) model, after re-entering the LEGO Technic world after many years; and stepping into the CAD/CAM computer design programs like MLcad and LDview. The 8421 XL version is slightly based on the Liebherr 1160 (180t)
